Nevada Healthy Homes Partnership

What we do

For occupants that qualify for the program, Nevada Healthy Homes Partnership staff will conduct a FREE lead-based paint inspection and risk assessment (LIRA).

During the LIRA, US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)-Certified Risk Assessors will perform a room-by-room review of the home to test painted surfaces, as well as will collect environmental samples to determine the presence of lead-based paint hazards.

If any lead-based paint hazards are identified, occupants may qualify for FREE remediation of the hazards. For homes that have a lead-based paint hazard, the occupants may also qualify for a FREE Healthy Homes Assessment by National Environmental Health Association (NEHA)-Certified Healthy Homes Specialists.

The Specialist will use the eight principles of healthy housing (Keep it Dry, Keep it Clean, Keep the Air Fresh, Keep it Pest-Free, Keep it Safe, Keep it Contaminant-Free, Keep it Maintained, and Keep it “Green”) to inspect the home and identify possible health hazards. If a health hazard could make the lead-based paint hazard worse, the home may qualify for further remediation.
